Unley Park Railway Station

Unley Park railway station is a station on the Belair railway line located 7.0 km south of Adelaide Railway Station. It is located on the boundary between Hawthorn and Westbourne Park, on the south side of Cross Road. It is located 7.0 km by railway from the Adelaide Railway Station.

It was temporarily closed in 1995 when one set of tracks through the station was converted to standard gauge for interstate trains. The former up (western) platform was demolished at the time of this change.

The station is an interchange point with the Circle Line Bus (route 100).

The adjacent stations are Goodwood and Mitcham. Prior to 1995, the adjacent stations were Millswood and Hawthorn; both of these stations were closed when the western track was converted to standard gauge (in 1995).

Famous quotes containing the words park, railway and/or station:

Is a park any better than a coal mine? What’s a mountain got that a slag pile hasn’t? What would you rather have in your garden—an almond tree or an oil well?
    Jean Giraudoux (1882–1944)

Her personality had an architectonic quality; I think of her when I see some of the great London railway termini, especially St. Pancras, with its soot and turrets, and she overshadowed her own daughters, whom she did not understand—my mother, who liked things to be nice; my dotty aunt. But my mother had not the strength to put even some physical distance between them, let alone keep the old monster at emotional arm’s length.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)

...I believe it is now the duty of the slaves of the South to rebuke their masters for their robbery, oppression and crime.... No station or character can destroy individual responsibility, in the matter of reproving sin.
    Angelina Grimké (1805–1879)
