Law Library

The Law Library, with over 1 million volumes, it is the 7th largest of its kind in the United States. It is a division of the University of Minnesota Libraries and is open to law students 24 hours a day throughout the year. The chief librarian at the school is Joan S. Howland, who joined the Law School in 1992. Of particular note is The Riesenfeld Rare Books Research Center, which houses one of the top three collections of rare legal texts in the nation. For its millionth volume, the Law School acquired the papers of Clarence Darrow.
