UC Merced received 14,055 applications for admission to the Fall 2012 incoming freshman class; 10,789 were admitted (76.8%). Admitted applicants had an average high school GPA of 3.57, an average ACT Composite score of 23, and an average combined SAT score of 1617 (average SAT scores of 525 for Critical Reading, 559 for Mathematics, and 533 for Writing).
