University Carlo Cattaneo

The Carlo Cattaneo University (Italian: Libera Università Carlo Cattaneo, LIUC) is a private, accredited university located in Castellanza, Italy (located in Northern Italy, close to Milan, Varese and the Swiss border). It was founded in 1991 as a joint venture between Italian corporations who provided the initial funding and continued to provide support and guidance, under the seal of the Industrial Association of the Province of Varese (UNIVA) and is organized in three Faculties (Business & Economics, Business Law and Management Engineering). The University is named after Carlo Cattaneo, a nineteenth century local thinker and economist whose philosophy placed human intelligence and willpower alongside the three elements of classic economics - raw materials, capital and labour - thus putting the entrepreneur at the very heart of the economic process.

Famous quotes containing the words university and/or carlo:

Priests are not men of the world; it is not intended that they should be; and a University training is the one best adapted to prevent their becoming so.
    Samuel Butler (1835–1902)

If there is anything so romantic as that castle-palace-fortress of Monaco I have not seen it. If there is anything more delicious than the lovely terraces and villas of Monte Carlo I do not wish to see them. There is nothing beyond the semi-tropical vegetation, the projecting promontories into the Mediterranean, the all-embracing sweep of the ocean, the olive groves, and the enchanting climate! One gets tired of the word beautiful.
    M. E. W. Sherwood (1826–1903)
