Unitrans - Bus Fleet

Bus Fleet

The fleet numbers on each bus are assigned according to a numbering scheme. The first two digits of each bus indicate their class, and are usually based on the number of seats within the bus. The last two digits are unique to each bus, and are assigned in ascending order. Thus, with one exception, no two buses have the same last two digits within the active fleet. The vintage double-deck buses retain their original fleet numbers from their service with London Transport, and thus are exempt from this numbering scheme. RT 742 and 3542, a 35' Orion V, share the same last two digits.
