The Final Days
In 1999, the Union Camp Corporation was acquired by International Paper. At the time it was referred to as a "merger," but was actually a takeover. Famous quotes containing the words final and/or days:
“Only an attitude remains:
Time has transfigured them into
Untruth. The stone fidelity
They hardly meant has come to be
Their final blazon, and to prove
Our almost-instinct almost true:
What will survive of us is love.”
—Philip Larkin (19221986)
“I wish the days to be as centuries, loaded, fragrant. Now we reckon them as bank-days, by some debt which is to be paid us, or which we are to pay, or some pleasure we are to taste.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
