In Issue 17, the Spring 2007 issue, Under the Radar ran a 15-page special section entitled Music vs. Film. For the section British band Kaiser Chiefs interviewed comedian/actor/writer Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) and Kevin Drew of the Canadian collective Broken Social Scene interviewed Irish actor Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later, Batman Begins, Sunshine). The section also included an interview with singer/actress Charlotte Gainsbourg. Various bands also wrote about their favorite movies.

Famous quotes containing the words music, film and/or section:
“The man that hath no music in himself,
Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds,
Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils.
The motions of his spirit are dull as night,
And his affections dark as Erebus.
Let no such man be trusted.”
—William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
“Film music should have the same relationship to the film drama that somebody’s piano playing in my living room has to the book I am reading.”
—Igor Stravinsky (1882–1971)
“Socialite women meet socialite men and mate and breed socialite children so that we can fund small opera companies and ballet troupes because there is no government subsidy.”
—Sugar Rautbord, U.S. socialite fund-raiser and self-described “trash” novelist. As quoted in The Great Divide, book 2, section 7, by Studs Terkel (1988)
