The cultivar 'Scampstoniensis', the Scampston Elm, originated at Scampston Hall, Yorkshire, England, before 1810. Henry described the tree as "a weeping form of U. nitens (:Ulmus minor)" from a specimen grown in Victoria Park, Bath, however Green considered it "probably a form of Ulmus × hollandica",
