Ulisses Morais - Coaching Carer

Coaching Carer

Morais started his managerial career at the age of 36 with Naval 1º de Maio, then a lower league minnow. He successfully moved on to Dragões Sandinenses, Machico, and Estoril Praia, all in the lower leagues of Portuguese football. During his three season spell at Estoril, however, Morais managed to lead the team through the ranks of semi-professional football to the Superliga, before moving on to Gil Vicente, with whom were relegated to the Liga de Honra under his charge. Morais came into management of top-flight Marítimo towards the end of the 2005–06 season, but resigned after just a year at the club, in April 2007.

In October 2007, he moved on to Naval, the same club where he started his career, until 7 September 2009, where he was sacked because of poor results after the recent 1–1 draw against Santa Clara in the Portuguese League Cup. Fernando Mira was named named interim coach. On 16 October, Morais joined Paços de Ferreira, replacing Paulo Sérgio, who left to manage Vitória de Guimarães.
