UC Davis School of Law - Expansion

Expansion

The law school is currently undergoing $30 million expansion project that is beginning its second phase. The project thus far has added an additional wing to the law school's current building, increasing assignable space by nearly 30 percent to provide for additional classrooms, offices, and a new courtroom, named the Paul and Lydia Kalmanovitz Appellate Courtroom in honor of a $1 million gift to the project from the Kalmanovitz Charitable Foundation. The courtroom is used by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, California Supreme Court, and California Court of Appeal. The second phase, now underway, includes major renovations to the existing structure that will improve aesthetics and traffic flow as well as provide the infrastructure necessary for new technologies. Construction information, floor plans, and a live construction camera are all available on the school's website.

Famous quotes containing the word expansion:

The fundamental steps of expansion that will open a person, over time, to the full flowering of his or her individuality are the same for both genders. But men and women are rarely in the same place struggling with the same questions at the same age.
    Gail Sheehy (20th century)

Every expansion of government in business means that government in order to protect itself from the political consequences of its errors and wrongs is driven irresistibly without peace to greater and greater control of the nation’s press and platform. Free speech does not live many hours after free industry and free commerce die.
    Herbert Hoover (1874–1964)

Artistic genius is an expansion of monkey imitativeness.
    W. Winwood Reade (1838–1875)
