Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center
Ty Cobb Healthcare System Incorporated announced on June 10, 2009, that it would close down Cobb Memorial Hospital and Hart County Hospital and consolidate them into a new $52 million, 56-bed, regional medical center in nearby Lavonia, Georgia, called Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center. Ty Cobb Healthcare System applied to the state Department of Community Health in mid-July for formal permission to build the new hospital. If the state grants a certificate of need quickly, construction could begin by the end of 2009 and the new hospital could be completed and operational in 2011.

Famous quotes containing the words medical and/or center:
“Often, we expect too much [from a nanny]. We want someone like ourselvesbright, witty, responsible, loving, imaginative, patient, well-mannered, and cheerful. Also, we want her to be smart, but not so smart that shes going to get bored in two months and leave us to go to medical school.”
—Louise Lague (20th century)
“Actually being married seemed so crowded with unspoken rules and odd secrets and unfathomable responsibilities that it had no more occurred to her to imagine being married herself than it had to imagine driving a motorcycle or having a job. She had, however, thought about being a bride, which had more to do with being the center of attention and looking inexplicably, temporarily beautiful than it did with sharing a double bed with someone with hairy legs and a drawer full of boxer shorts.”
—Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
