Two A-Holes - Two A-Holes

Two A-Holes

Jason Sudeikis and Kristen Wiig portray two nameless "assholes," a preppy self-absorbed couple who love chewing gum, pop culture references, and completely ignoring the people around them. The sketches usually feature just the two "A-Hole" characters and the guest host as a comedic foil to the two's antics in everyday situations, following their brainless attempt at even the most menial task (e.g. describing a thief to a police officer, working out with a trainer).

The male A-Hole is a fast-talking, Bluetooth wearing guy that usually does most of the talking, peppering questions directed at the female with the endearment "babe." The female A-Hole usually spends the whole sketch staring at her phone while she absentmindedly plays with her hair, occasionally whining and throwing in a pop culture "impression" that is impressive only to her other half.

Wiig and Sudeikis claim that the characters came from when they were up late one night, writing and chewing gum to stay awake. Both tired and annoyed at the late hour, they started talking in obnoxious, "a-hole" voices, and the Two A-Holes were born.

A recurring joke in the sketches is the female A-hole's reference to something or someone looking like something, usually "a rabbit," a joke that was born from the original "Two A-Holes Buying a Christmas Tree" sketch featuring guest host Jack Black.
