Adaptations
In 1978, Cy Coleman (music), Betty Comden and Adolph Green (book and lyrics) created the musical On the Twentieth Century based on this film, the original Hecht and MacArthur play and the unpublished play by Millholland. It ran on Broadway for 460 performances, and was revived for a special benefit performance in 2005.
