  • TWA Flight 800 was the subject of the premiere episode of Best Evidence, a documentary show on the Discovery Channel, the first episode of Conspiracy?, a documentary show on the History Channel, and an episode of two documentary series Seconds From Disaster, which receives regular screening on the National Geographic Channel. James Sanders' 2001 documentary film Silenced: Flight 800 and the Subversion of Justice presents evidence that "Flight 800 was actually destroyed by a surface-to-air missile".
  • The film Final Destination was loosely based on the crash of TWA Flight 800. In the film, a class of high school students boards VolĂ©e Air Flight 180 for a class field trip from New York JFK Airport to Paris for ten days. The plane explodes right after takeoff. Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) has a premonition of the plane exploding, and saves seven people, including himself from dying in the explosion.
  • TWA Flight 800 was a central plot device of Nelson DeMille's book Night Fall, a novel about John Corey's investigation of the flight.
