TV Party (EP)
TV Party is an EP by the American hardcore punk band Black Flag. It was released in July 1982 through SST Records.
The sardonic lyrics of the lead track describe a group of friends who have "nothing better to do than watch TV" and have some beers. TV-watching is satirically attacked as breeding stupidity, and the names of several TV-shows that were popular during the recording of the song (such as That's Incredible!, Quincy, M.E., Dallas, ABC's sketch show Fridays and Hill Street Blues) are called out in the lyrics.
The original version of the song appeared on the band's debut studio album Damaged in 1981, and a third version was included on the soundtrack of the film Repo Man in 1984. The Repo Man version was also featured in the Futurama episode "Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV", which also featured a cover performed by the cast of the series and featured in the end credits.
