Tunbridge Wells Girls' Grammar School - Uniform

Uniform

The uniform consists of a pleated tartan skirt, white blouse, matching tartan tie and navy jumper with a gold TWGGS logo (the same as the school's emblem). This uniform was brought in during 1997, with the Year Seven level being the first class to wear it. A summer uniform was added in the form of a thin cotton tartan dress. The Sixth Form do not wear a uniform.

Famous quotes containing the word uniform:

The Federal Constitution has stood the test of more than a hundred years in supplying the powers that have been needed to make the Central Government as strong as it ought to be, and with this movement toward uniform legislation and agreements between the States I do not see why the Constitution may not serve our people always.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

We know, Mr. Weller—we, who are men of the world—that a good uniform must work its way with the women, sooner or later.
    Charles Dickens (1812–1870)

An accent mark, perhaps, instead of a whole western accent—a point of punctuation rather than a uniform twang. That is how it should be worn: as a quiet point of character reference, an apt phrase of sartorial allusion—macho, sotto voce.
    Phil Patton (b. 1953)
