Triumph Legend 964cc

Triumph Legend 964cc

The Triumph Legend 964 cc is British motorcycle developed by Les Williams, the former Triumph racing manager, the 'Legend' models were specials, each made after the demise of Triumph at Meriden from parts to specific customer requirements and based on the T160V Triumph Trident three cylinder engine with five speed gearbox and electric start. Braking was uprated with a Lockheed hydraulic system: twin discs at the front and single rear.

Many were carefully tuned for maximum performance and between 1984 and 1992 a total of sixty Triumph Legends were built - although Les Williams received hundreds of orders following articles in Classic Bike (UK) and Cycle World (USA).

The Triumph Legend name was later resurrected by the Triumph Motorcycles Ltd Hinckley factory for a version of the three cylinder 900 cc.
