Personal Life
Phillips was married to Asha Bhownagary for 28 years. Phillips met his former wife, a child psychologist, as a student, and the couple have two grown-up daughters, Sushila and Holly. Phillips and Bhownagary separated in February 2008. Soon afterwards, he started going out with TV producer Helen Veale, who is 16 years his junior.
