This new type of biofuel is gaining momentum as a serious contender in the race to find an energy alternative to fossil fuels. Proponents of Treethanol claim that its energy yield is much higher compared to the energy required for production when compared with more common sources of ethanol (i.e. sugar cane and corn). While there are some limitations and challenges with producing Treethanol, the advantages are intriguing and at the very least, warrant further large-scale and long-term testing.
