The TRAMP complex (Trf4/Air2/Mtr4p Polyadenylation complex) is a multi-protein complex consisting of the RNA helicase Mtr4, a poly(A) polymerase (PAP) (either Trf4 or Trf5) and a zinc knuckle protein (either Air1 or Air2). The TRAMP complex interacts with the exosome complex in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells and is involved in the 3' end processing of ribosomal RNA and snoRNAs.

Famous quotes containing the words tramp and/or complex:
“I long ago lost a hound, a bay horse, and a turtle-dove, and am still on their trail. Many are the travellers I have spoken concerning them, describing their tracks and what calls they answered to. I have met one or two who had heard the hound, and the tramp of the horse, and even seen the dove disappear behind a cloud, and they seemed as anxious to recover them as if they had lost them themselves.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“When distant and unfamiliar and complex things are communicated to great masses of people, the truth suffers a considerable and often a radical distortion. The complex is made over into the simple, the hypothetical into the dogmatic, and the relative into an absolute.”
—Walter Lippmann (18891974)
