Toy (music Group) - Career

Career

Toy started as a duo of Yoo Hee-yeol and Yoon Jeong-oh and was named after their two initials 'Y', as in Two + Y = Toy.

But after releasing Toy's first album, Yoon Jeong-oh left the band to study overseas and Yoo Hee-yeol joined the navy for his mandatory military service. Yoo Hee-yeol has been the sole member of Toy since 1996.

After his discharge from military service, Yoo released Toy's second album Fairy Tales for Adults. The title song Remember I Was Next to You sung by Kim Yeon-woo became a big hit and the album was a success.

In 1997, he released the third album Present and also started a record label named Toy Music (currently Antenna Music). After a six-year hiatus, in 2007 Toy released the sixth album Thank You with the title song '뜨거운 안녕(A Passionate Goodbye)' featuring vocals by E Z Hyoung.

Famous quotes containing the word career:

From a hasty glance through the various tests I figure it out that I would be classified in Group B, indicating “Low Average Ability,” reserved usually for those just learning to speak the English Language and preparing for a career of holding a spike while another man hits it.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)

A black boxer’s career is the perfect metaphor for the career of a black male. Every day is like being in the gym, sparring with impersonal opponents as one faces the rudeness and hostility that a black male must confront in the United States, where he is the object of both fear and fascination.
    Ishmael Reed (b. 1938)

“Never hug and kiss your children! Mother love may make your children’s infancy unhappy and prevent them from pursuing a career or getting married!” That’s total hogwash, of course. But it shows on extreme example of what state-of-the-art “scientific” parenting was supposed to be in early twentieth-century America. After all, that was the heyday of efficiency experts, time-and-motion studies, and the like.
    Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
