Blake House

Blake house is named after Admiral Robert Blake (1599–1657); its house colour is blue. As with all of the school's houses, Blake has a strong tradition of charity work. As well as the separately-run form activities, every December Blake House write, produce and perform a variety show for the Gateway Club, giving a Christmas outing to the patrons, many of whom do not get to leave their home very often.

Famous quotes containing the words blake and/or house:

How sweet I roam’d from field to field

Who in the sunny beams did glide!
    —William Blake (1757–1827)

As the House is designed to provide a reflection of the mood of the moment, the Senate is meant to reflect the continuity of the past—to preserve the delicate balance of justice between the majority’s whims and the minority’s rights.
