In an interview on the eve of his departure from the legislature, Abbott said that he saw himself returning to politics, either at the provincial or the federal level. However, he said that he wouldn't run against local member of the Canadian House of Commons Rob Merrifield until the latter was ready to retire, calling the prospect of challenging him in a nomination fight "unethical". Tony currently lives in San Antonio, Texas where he owns and operates a small printing business, "Presto Printing".
