Its popularity is increasing rapidly, especially amongst teenage girls and young women, due to the amount of celebrities that have it done. Due to the fact that it isn't visible, it is the second most popular choice of piercing (over ears) for those who work in offices, or in professions where visible piercings are not permitted.
