Tommy Reamon - High School Football Coach

High School Football Coach

Reamon coached with the Newport News Public Schools for a number of years. He was at Ferguson High School until it was closed during a building modernization program in 1996. He then moved to Warwick High School.

From 2006 until early 2008, Tommy Reamon was employed coaching high school football at Gloucester High School in Gloucester County in the Virginia's Middle Peninsula region at the northern edge of Hampton Roads. At Gloucester High School, Coach Reamon's son Tommy Jr. was considered among the rising football stars with collegiate potential, according to observers. Tommy Reamon Jr. subsequently selected Old Dominion University in Norfolk where he is playing for the Monarchs.

In April, 2008, it was announced that Reamon had accepted a position with Virginia Beach City Public Schools as Head Football coach at Landstown High School in Virginia Beach. The Landstown Eagles team went 5-5 the prior season. He will replace Steve Canter, who resigned March 18, 2008, after two seasons to accept a job on Pete Adrian’s staff at Norfolk State University.

Famous quotes containing the words high school, high, school, football and/or coach:

The way to go to the circus, however, is with someone who has seen perhaps one theatrical performance before in his life and that in the High School hall.... The scales of sophistication are struck from your eyes and you see in the circus a gathering of men and women who are able to do things as a matter of course which you couldn’t do if your life depended on it.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)

If I must choose which I would elevate
The people or the already lofty mountains,
I’d elevate the already lofty mountains.
The only fault I find with old New Hampshire
Is that her mountains aren’t quite high enough.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

I never went near the Wellesley College chapel in my four years there, but I am still amazed at the amount of Christian charity that school stuck us all with, a kind of glazed politeness in the face of boredom and stupidity. Tolerance, in the worst sense of the word.... How marvelous it would have been to go to a women’s college that encouraged impoliteness, that rewarded aggression, that encouraged argument.
    Nora Ephron (b. 1941)

...I’m not money hungry.... People who are rich want to be richer, but what’s the difference? You can’t take it with you. The toys get different, that’s all. The rich guys buy a football team, the poor guys buy a football. It’s all relative.
    Martina Navratilova (b. 1956)

Oh! joyous hearts! enfired with holy flame!
Is speech thus tasseled with praise?
Will not your inward fire of joy contain:
That it in open flames doth blaze?
For in Christ’s coach saints sweetly sing,
As they to glory ride therein.
    Edward Taylor (1645–1729)
