Entry Into Politics
Moran first entered politics as a member of the Labour Party, although he did not reach any position of influence. He left Labour in 1933 to join the BUF and set about organising the local branch in Derby. Moran quickly gained a reputation as a skillful speaker at BUF events and before long was called to the National Headquarters to help organise the BUF as a whole. Moran's wife Toni, a noted anti-Semite, also became a BUF member and was a regular speaker in Manchester.

Famous quotes containing the words entry into, entry and/or politics:
“All mothers need instruction, nurturing, and an understanding mentor after the birth of a baby, but in this age of fast foods, fast tracks, and fast lanes, it doesnt always happen. While we live in a society that provides recognition for just about every life eventfrom baptisms to bar mitzvahs, from wedding vows to funeral ritesthe entry into parenting seems to be a solo flight, with nothing and no one to mark formally the new moms entry into motherhood.”
—Sally Placksin (20th century)

“While youre playing cards with a regular guy or having a bite to eat with him, he seems a peaceable, good-humoured and not entirely dense person. But just begin a conversation with him about something inedible, politics or science, for instance, and he ends up in a deadend or starts in on such an obtuse and base philosophy that you can only wave your hand and leave.”
—Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (18601904)
