Todd Williams

Todd Michael Williams (born February 13, 1971 in Syracuse, New York) is a former Major League Baseball relief pitcher. He last pitched for the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League in 2008, and is currently a free agent. He attended Onondaga Community College.

Drafted in the 54th round of the 1990 amateur draft, Williams played three seasons in the minors before making his MLB debut on April 29, 1995, for the Dodgers. On September 8, 1995, Williams was traded to the Oakland Athletics for Matt McDonald. On January 16, 1997, he was released by the Athletics and signed with the Cincinnati Reds on February 3.

On July 22, 1999, Williams was traded to the Seattle Mariners for Kerry Robinson. The Mariners released Williams on November 16, 2000; he signed with the New York Yankees on January 3, 2001. A free agent at the end of the season, Williams signed with his original team, the Dodgers, but was released in spring training. On May 3, 2002, he signed with the Montreal Expos and became a free agent after the season. He signed with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on December 23, 2002. On December 8, 2003, Williams signed with the Texas Rangers, but was released on June 14, 2004.

On June 23, 2004, Williams signed with the Baltimore Orioles, where he would play for the next four years and make his first appearance in the majors since 2001 with the Yankees. Williams was a valuable member of the Orioles bullpen for the next three years as he posted ERAs of 2.87, 3.30, and 4.74 in 29, 72, and 62 appearances, respectively. In 2007, he struggled with an ERA of 7.53 before being released by the Orioles on June 17. He played in the minors for the Colorado Rockies for the rest of the year. On May 22, 2008, Williams signed with the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League.

On December 13, 2007, Williams was one of many athletes mentioned in the detailed Mitchell Report by Senator George Mitchell in which he was alleged to have used performance-enhancing drugs. Kirk Radomski claimed he sold Winstrol to Williams once in 2001.
