Origin
The origins of Tjeker is uncertain. A possible linguistic connection has been suggested with the Teucri, a tribe described by ancient sources as inhabiting northwest Anatolia to the south of Troy. However, this has been dismissed as "pure speculation" by Trevor Bryce.
