Honours
In the Order of the Bath, Garden was appointed a CB in 1992 and received his knighthood in 1994. He was appointed as a Chevalier de l'Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur by President Chirac in July 2003 for his work on European defence issues. Garden was elevated to the life peerage as Baron Garden of Hampstead, in the London Borough of Camden, in 2004.
