Use of Music By Sea Shepherd
Before taking out his vessel Ady Gil on an anti-whaling cruise to the Southern Ocean with the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, Pete Bethune noted that he had installed a large set of speakers, and intended to play the songs like Tangaroa from Tiki Taane to the whalers, describing it as a "growling big sort of a song about the God of the Sea who looks after us".

Famous quotes containing the words music, sea and/or shepherd:
“For do but note a wild and wanton herd
Or race of youthful and unhandled colts
Fetching mad bounds, bellowing and neighing loud,
Which is the hot condition of their blood;
If they but hear perchance a trumpet sound,
Or any air of music touch their ears,
You shall perceive them make a mutual stand,
Their savage eyes turned to a modest gaze
By the sweet power of music.”
—William Shake{peare (15641616)
“The masses of the sea
The masses of the sea under
The masses of the infant-bearing sea
Erupt, fountain, and enter to utter for ever
Glory glory glory
The sundering ultimate kingdom of genesis thunder.”
—Dylan Thomas (19141953)
“In communist society, where nobody has one exclusive sphere of activity but each can become accomplished in any branch he wishes, society regulates the general production and thus makes it possible for me to do one thing today and another tomorrow, to hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticize after dinner, just as I have a mind, without ever becoming hunter, fisherman, shepherd or critic.”
—Karl Marx (18181883)
