Famous quotes containing the words tiger, horse and/or association:

    The tiger in the tiger-pit
Is not more irritable than I.
The whipping tail is not more still
Than when I smell the enemy
    Writhing in the essential blood
Or dangling from the friendly tree.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

A good horse will never return to graze on grass it has already passed by.
    Chinese proverb.

They that have grown old in a single state are generally found to be morose, fretful and captious; tenacious of their own practices and maxims; soon offended by contradiction or negligence; and impatient of any association but with those that will watch their nod, and submit themselves to unlimited authority.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)
