Thunder Road (roller Coaster)
Thunder Road is a wooden roller coaster located at the Carowinds amusement park in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Thunder Road is a racing roller coaster, featuring two individual tracks that parallel each other. The design of the ride was based upon Rebel Yell, another wooden racing coaster at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia.
The coaster is built on the Carolinas state line. Riders have the option to choose which side, North Carolina or South Carolina they would like to ride on. Many times, ride operators will race the sides as a "Battle of the States".
