Thorn’s mission is to provide outdoor and indoor luminaires and integrated controls which make it easier for customers to specify, install and maintain good quality, energy efficient lighting. A key factor in this goal is the commitment to excellence in optical performance and installer functionality.
The partnership with the Lighting Urban Community International (LUCI) - an international network that brings together 65 cities engaged in using light – forms a co-ordinated resource in addressing the growing opportunities in urban lighting.
Advances in LEDs are a major spur to progress. Thorn is innovating to incorporate LED technology into lighting solutions wherever it makes sense.

Famous quotes containing the words current and/or activities:
“Absolutely speaking, Do unto others as you would that they should do unto you is by no means a golden rule, but the best of current silver. An honest man would have but little occasion for it. It is golden not to have any rule at all in such a case.”
—Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
“I am admonished in many ways that time is pushing me inexorably along. I am approaching the threshold of age; in 1977 I shall be 142. This is no time to be flitting about the earth. I must cease from the activities proper to youth and begin to take on the dignities and gravities and inertia proper to that season of honorable senility which is on its way.”
—Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)
