The Young Ones (song) - Plot

Plot

The story concerns Richard and his chums (including Hayes, Green and O'Sullivan, in roles originally intended for members of The Shadows) trying to save their youth club from unscrupulous millionaire property developer, Hamilton Black (Morley). The members decide to put on a show to raise money to buy a lease renewal. The twist is that Nicky, Cliff Richard's character, is in reality Hamilton Black's son. He keeps this secret from his friends until some of them try to kidnap Black senior, at which stage he reveals himself to the attackers. The following scene shows Nicky and his friends pleading with Black Senior to give the club back to the youth. He eventually relents and the credits roll.

Famous quotes containing the word plot:

    Persons attempting to find a motive in this narrative will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find a moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find a plot in it will be shot.
    Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)

    Morality for the novelist is expressed not so much in the choice of subject matter as in the plot of the narrative, which is perhaps why in our morally bewildered time novelists have often been timid about plot.
    Jane Rule (b. 1931)

    Ends in themselves, my letters plot no change;
    They carry nothing dutiable; they won’t
    Aspire, astound, establish or estrange.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)
