The Woman in The Room - Dollar Baby

Dollar Baby

Celebrated director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption & The Green Mile) started his film career by adapting this story into a short film in 1983. Darabont sent King a short letter in 1983 asking for permission for him to adapt the short story into a film and King agreed because he thought that the idea of students taking short stories and adapting them was a good one.

It is famously the first Dollar Baby. Stephen King has also said that it is his favorite and it is because of Darabont that he created the Dollar Baby.
