Remake
According to Kaufman, due to the remake Mother's Day, major motion picture companies are interested in doing remakes of other Troma films. Among the titles currently in negotiations is The Toxic Avenger. On April 6, 2010, a remake of The Toxic Avenger was announced. The remake was said to be aiming for a family-friendly PG-13 release similar to the Toxic Crusaders.
The film is to be co-written and directed by Steve Pink of Hot Tub Time Machine.
