The Timothy Plan

The Timothy Plan is a mutual fund company that shuns investing in firms its research discovers are employing policies and practices that are contrary to the scriptures of the Bible. It screens its investments to avoid companies that support abortion, alternative lifestyles (including gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender, unmarried domestic partnerships), pornography, "anti-family" entertainment, "anti-family" policies, alcohol, tobacco, gambling and supporting terrorist nations as defined by the US Government. Among the better known companies that don't meet the plan's guidelines are General Electric, The Coca-Cola Company, Microsoft, Starbucks, Time Warner and Walt Disney Company. The fund is categorized as "moral investing". Its ultimate goal is to provide an alternative investment that allows Christian and conservative investors to align their investment portfolio with their beliefs.

Famous quotes containing the words timothy and/or plan:

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
—Bible: New Testament 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

I have always hated biography, and more especially, autobiography. If biography, the writer invariably finds it necessary to plaster the subject with praises, flattery and adulation and to invest him with all the Christian graces. If autobiography, the same plan is followed, but the writer apologizes for it.
    Carolyn Wells (1862–1942)
