The Tell All Your Friends Demo

The Tell All Your Friends Demo is the demo that convinced Victory Records to sign Taking Back Sunday. All of the songs (except "Your Own Disaster") were re-recorded for their debut album Tell All Your Friends. Your Own Disaster was later re-recorded for Where You Want To Be and released as Japanese bonus track. The spoken word at the beginning of "Great Romances of the Twentieth Century" is taken from the movie Beautiful Girls. Two versions are known to exist. One, titled "The 'Tell All Your Friends" Demo', with a picture of a man and woman kissing on the insert, and a later one titled only 'Taking Back Sunday', with a picture of an amp. Both versions were recorded at Mike Sapone's recording studio, burned onto CD-R and packaged in a thin plastic slip-case. It was once believed that the band destroyed all remaining copies, but Shaun Cooper stated on his formspring.me account that the band didn't destroy anything.

Famous quotes containing the word friends:

I am asked if I would not be gratified if my friends would procure me promotion to a brigadier-generalship. My feeling is that I would rather be one of the good colonels than one of the poor generals. The colonel of a regiment has one of the most agreeable positions in the service, and one of the most useful. “A good colonel makes a good regiment,” is an axiom.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
