The Tall Guy - Alternate Versions

Alternate Versions

There are significant differences between the American release of the film and the original version, including cut or replaced scenes and overdubbing of British slang and popular culture references. For example, in the scene featuring John Inman reading the nominees for the theatre awards, three American actors are named in addition to Ron Anderson, rather than the British actors named in the original.

As of February 2010, the original version has not been released on home video in the United States.

Famous quotes containing the words alternate and/or versions:

Boswell, when he speaks of his Life of Johnson, calls it my magnum opus, but it may more properly be called his opera, for it is truly a composition founded on a true story, in which there is a hero with a number of subordinate characters, and an alternate succession of recitative and airs of various tone and effect, all however in delightful animation.
    James Boswell (1740–1795)

The assumption must be that those who can see value only in tradition, or versions of it, deny man’s ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
    Stephen Bayley (b. 1951)
