Photo Manipulation
The Sun has used photo manipulation to alter the composition of news photos. In a July 2008 front-page image of Prince William on a small boat, a person that otherwise had a prominent position on the image was removed outright by editing, altering the photo. The online version of The Sun and another newspaper, The Metro, displayed the unaltered photo.

Famous quotes containing the words photo and/or manipulation:
“A photo of someone else’s childhood,
a garden in another country—world
he had no part in and has no power to imagine:
yet the old man who has failed his memory
keens over the picture— ‘Them happy days—
gone—gone for ever!’”
—Denise Levertov (b. 1923)
“Denotation by means of sounds and markings is a remarkable abstraction. Three letters designate God for me; several lines a million things. How easy becomes the manipulation of the universe here, how evident the concentration of the intellectual world! Language is the dynamics of the spiritual realm. One word of command moves armies; the word liberty entire nations.”
—Novalis [Friedrich Von Hardenberg] (1772–1801)
