The Sun Always Shines On T.V.

"The Sun Always Shines on T.V." is a song by Norwegian pop band A-ha. It was released as the third single from the band's debut album, Hunting High and Low. In many countries the single was not as successful as the band's previous, "Take on Me", which hit #1 in the U.S. and several countries around the world. In the UK and Ireland, however, "The Sun Always Shines on T.V." actually improved upon the #2 charting of their debut, remaining at the top spot on the UK Singles Chart for two weeks in January 1986, having been released there on 16 December 1985.

The song was re-released in a live version in 2003 with some minor success in Eastern Europe. It has sold over 5 million copies worldwide.

Famous quotes containing the words sun and/or shines:

It takes a heap o’ livin’ in a house t’ make it home,
A heap o’ sun an’ shadder, an’ ye sometimes have t’ roam
Afore ye really ‘preciate the things ye lef’ behind,
An’ hunger fer ‘em somehow, with ‘em allus on yer mind.
    Edgar Albert Guest (1881–1959)

I meet him at every turn. He is more alive than ever he was. He has earned immortality. He is not confined to North Elba nor to Kansas. He is no longer working in secret. He works in public, and in the clearest light that shines on this land.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
