The Skeptical Environmentalist - Longer-term Impact

Longer-term Impact

The Skeptical Environmentalist became a high-profile international bestseller during 2001–2002. Lomborg's book currently appears on the reading list of university environmental studies courses as recommended or required reading. In the years following publication, Lomborg's impact on the public policy debate was heightened by his association with the Copenhagen Consensus, which he initiated. Lomborg's second book, Global Crises, Global Solutions, published in 2004 by Cambridge University Press, is based on that academic project, which comprises eight economists, including four Nobel Prize in Economics winners. Like Skeptical Environmentalist, Lomborg's second book addresses global problems broadly, using data analysis and the interpretations of respected economists.

Famous quotes containing the word impact:

One can describe a landscape in many different words and sentences, but one would not normally cut up a picture of a landscape and rearrange it in different patterns in order to describe it in different ways. Because a photograph is not composed of discrete units strung out in a linear row of meaningful pieces, we do not understand it by looking at one element after another in a set sequence. The photograph is understood in one act of seeing; it is perceived in a gestalt.
