Allen Collins Band
In 1983, the Allen Collins Band, featuring Allen Collins, Barry Harwood, Leon Wilkeson, Madison Swartz, Billy Powell, and Derek Hess from RCB (also featuring Jacksonville natives Randall Hall and Jimmy Doughtry) was formed, but also soon fell apart. Members of both bands, along with friends and relatives of the deceased, eventually reformed Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1987, ten years after the plane crash. As of 2009, Rossington is the only RCB or ACB member involved with Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Famous quotes containing the words allen, collins and/or band:
“I have misplaced the Van Allen belt
the sewers and the drainage,
the urban renewal and the suburban centers.
I have forgotten the names of the literary critics.”

“Though taste, though genius bless
To some divine excess,
Faint’s the cold work till thou inspire the whole;
What each, what all supply,
May court, may charm our eye,
Thou, only thou, canst raise the meeting soul!”

“There was a young lady called Gloria
Who was had by Sir Gerald Du Maurier
And then by six men
And Sir Gerald again
And the band of the Waldorf-Astoria.”
