The Red Room Company is a non-profit organisation based in Sydney, Australia that creates, publishes and promotes poetry in unusual ways. It was established by Johanna Featherstone in 2002, emerging from The Red Room Radio Show, which broadcast on 89.7FM Eastside Radio from 2001.
The Red Room Company concentrates on three core programs: Papercuts, a poetry education program that sees contemporary Australian poets visit students in primary and secondary schools; Unlocked, a workshop series designed to promote literacy, rehabilitation and self-expression in correctional centres across NSW; and public projects, that aim to promote the status of poetry in the wider community.

Famous quotes containing the words red, room and/or company:
“Take a red book called TELEPHONE,
size eight by four. There it sits.
My red book, name, address and number.
These are all people that I somehow own.
Yet some of these names are counterfeit.”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
“Its an indulgence to sit in a room and discuss your beliefs as if they were a juicy piece of gossip.”
—Lillian Hellman (19071984)
“Yet, hermit and stoic as he was, he was really fond of sympathy, and threw himself heartily and childlike into the company of young people whom he loved, and whom he delighted to entertain, as he only could, with the varied and endless anecdotes of his experiences by field and river: and he was always ready to lead a huckleberry-party or a search for chestnuts and grapes.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
