"The Quickening" is the 96th episode of the science fiction television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the 24th episode of the fourth season. It was directed by fellow series cast member Rene Auberjonois ("Odo"). In the episode, Dr. Bashir attempts to find a cure for a centuries-old lethal disease that has destroyed the afflicted society.
