The Peter Principle (TV Series) - Location

Location

The building used for the bank front is currently the Jewellery Workshop of Amersham at 2 Market Square Amersham, Buckinghamshire.

The bank rear and carpark are behind The Griffin Hotel (in The Broadway, less than 100m east from the jewellery shop). The building rear, of white painted brick, looks to be fake (i.e. not a complete building, just a fabricated wall with a brick appearance)—there is a repeating pattern to the bricks, which is seen clearly in “Insecurity” when Mr Naylor is quizzing Peter outside the bank after hours. This would also explain why the building is no longer there. At the end of “Sex, Lies and Videotape”, Hugo Hamilton drives his car into the carpark from Whielden Green and hits Peter. In “Greyhound Day”, David drives his car out of the carpark and along Whielden Green.

In “Sex, Lies and Videotape” and “The Midas Touch”, Peter uses a phone box. This was in front of the Kings Arms Hotel in High Street, (approximately 150m west from the jewellery shop). The phone box is no longer there.

In “The Midas Touch”, Peter falls into a workmen’s ditch in front of a small shopfront. This is in High Street between Liz Quilter and St James House, two doors west of the Kings Arms Hotel.

In “Insecurity”, there are two scenes in which Peter is standing in front of “SAMS Second Hand Furniture”. This shopfront appears to be what is now Raj Gate restaurant at 20-22 The Broadway (approximately 100m east from the jewellery shop).

In “There’s Something About Geoffrey”, there is a short scene in front of Le Petit Nantais restaurant at 41 Bridge Street, East Molesey, Surrey.

Parts of the interior set (the foyer, hallway, and kitchen) change slightly between Series 1 and Series 2. Other changes include two new windows—one in the staff room and one in Susan's office. Also, between the two series there is a subtle change to the geometry of Peter's Office.
