The Orange Room - Involvement in The July War

Involvement in The July War

Members and Orange Room staff were heavily involved in the media war that accompanied the July War. It can be reasonably argued that The Orange Room played a significant role in the virtual online information war. The following is a list of websites that have been at least indirectly linked to Orange Room staff members:

  • From Israel to Lebanon
  • Stop Destroying Lebanon
  • The "Save the Lebanese Civilians" Petition, that collected over 200,000 signatures. The petition website was attacked by hackers several times during the July War.

The Orange Room website itself was the target of continuous attacks.

Famous quotes containing the words involvement in the, involvement in, involvement, july and/or war:

The mother whose self-image is dependent on her children places on those children the responsibility for her own identity, and her involvement in the details of their lives can put great pressure on the children. A child suffers when everything he or she does is extremely important to a parent; this kind of over-involvement can turn even a small problem into a crisis.
    Grace Baruch (20th century)

I recommend limiting one’s involvement in other people’s lives to a pleasantly scant minimum. This may seem too stoical a position in these madly passionate times, but madly passionate people rarely make good on their madly passionate promises.
    Quentin Crisp (b. 1908)

Many people now believe that if fathers are more involved in raising children than they were, children and sons in particular will learn that men can be warm and supportive of others as well as be high achievers. Thus, fathers’ involvement may be beneficial not because it will help support traditional male roles, but because it will help break them down.
    Joseph H. Pleck (20th century)

People in Stamps used to say that the whites in our town were so prejudiced that a Negro couldn’t buy vanilla ice cream. Except on July Fourth. Other days he had to be satisfied with chocolate.
    Maya Angelou (b. 1928)

... when there is a war the years are longer that is to say the days are longer the months are longer the years are much longer but the weeks are shorter that is what makes a war.
    Gertrude Stein (1874–1946)
