"The Office Values" and "Realising Potential"
In 2004, Microsoft UK commissioned two 20-minute corporate videos featuring David Brent being interviewed by Jeff (Stephen Merchant), a Microsoft employee who becomes increasingly exasperated by Brent's antics. The ongoing theme is Brent's obvious resentment at the company's success. Brent also appears to believe he has what it takes to become the next managing director of Microsoft and continually drops hints to that effect. While not on general release, the videos emerged on the internet in 2006. They were posted on both YouTube and Google Video. The clips also appeared on certain peer-to-peer networks. Microsoft was unhappy with the leak, stating that the videos "were never intended to be viewed by the public".

Famous quotes containing the words office, values, realising and/or potential:
“We need more of the Office Desk and less of the Show Window in politics. Let men in office substitute the midnight oil for the limelight.”
—Calvin Coolidge (18721933)
“To be faced with what so-and-sos mother lets him do, or what the teacher said in class today or what all the kids are wearing is to be required to reexamine some part of our belief structure. Each time we rethink our values we reaffirm them or begin to change them. Seen in this way, parenthood affords us an exceptional opportunity for growth.”
—Ruth Davidson Bell (20th century)
“Repeating then is in every one, in every one their being
and their feeling and their way of realising everything
and every one comes out of them in repeating. More
and more then every one comes to be clear to some one.”
—Gertrude Stein (18741946)
“The planet on which we live is poorly organized, many areas are overpopulated, others are reserved for a few, technologys potential is only in part realized, and most people are starving.”
—Friedrich Dürrenmatt (19211990)
