The National Conference Center

The National Conference Center (NCC) is a corporate training facility in Leesburg, Virginia. It hosts over 14,000 individuals per month and comprises 265,000 square feet (24,600 m2) of meeting space, one of the largest in the region. The center contains 250 conference rooms, an athletic facility, and 917 guest rooms.

The building was built in 1974 as the Xerox Conference Center at a cost of $55 million dollars. It was designed to assist in copier and technology training for company employees. It was designed by Vincent G. Kling & Partners, and has been managed by ARAMARK Harrison Lodging since its inauguration. In 1994 Xerox permitted outside organizations to use the grounds. The center was sold to Oxford Capital Partners in 2000. Two years later, the Center completed a $29 million dollar renovation, in order to ameliorate its training operations. The current design implements "living learning modules", a series of color-coded buildings; underground tunnels; a ballroom; and walking trails.

Famous quotes containing the words national, conference and/or center:

...I have wanted to believe people could make their dreams come true ... that problems could be solved. However, this is a national illness. As Americans, we believe all problems can be solved, that all questions have answers.
    Kristin Hunter (b. 1931)

For 350 years we have been taught that reading maketh a full man, conference a ready man and writing an exact man. Football’s place is to add a patina of character, a deference to the rules and a respect for authority.
    Walter Wellesley (Red)

Death is someone you see very clearly with eyes in the center of your heart: eyes that see not by reacting to light, but by reacting to a kind of a chill from within the marrow of your own life.
    Thomas Merton (1915–1968)
