Career
The MoFo Party Band has been entertaining since 1989, and has played thousands of gigs, including Mark Hummel's Blues Harmonica Blowout tour and numerous blues festivals (including the San Francisco Blues Festival; the Alley Festival in Longview, Texas; the B.B. King Blues Festival; and eight times at the Sonora Blues Festival).
In 2005, MoFo received a Modesto Area Music Association MAMA award for Best Jazz and Blues Band. That same year, their album The Sound Of The MoFo Party Band received a Five Fedora review in the Oct/Nov 2005 issue of Big City Blues Magazine. In July 2007, MoFo performed at the Belgium Rhythm and Blues Festival (one of the largest blues festivals in Western Europe) and the Luxemburg Jazz and Blues Rally attended by 23,000 people. They also had a 2-week tour of Poland that included performances at the Polish Boogie Woogie Festival and the Satyr Blues Fest.
MoFo has also worked as a backing band for such artists as Johnny Dyer, James Harman and the late Little Walter guitarist Luther Tucker.
The band has recorded five critically acclaimed harmonica blues CDs on the Vivid Sound label: Ten Dynamite Hits, Call the Doctor, Voodoo Dolls and Jungle Drums, The Sound of MoFo Party Band, and most recently, Low Down. Blues harmonica player Mark Hummel has described MoFo as "crowd pleasers" that "always go the extra mile to deliver, whether it's a big festival or small club audience." Lead vocalist and harmonica player John Clifton endorses Seydel harmonicas.
In September 2010, MoFo embarked on a tour in Germany and met with the Mayor of Munster, which also happens to be the sister city of MoFo's hometown Fresno.
